Litter and Dog Waste during coronavirus

24 APR 20 | 3 minute read

Please take your rubbish and dog waste home with you. With the added strain on public services due to coronavirus some of our regular services have been changed or temporarily suspended, and this includes the emptying of public litter bins.

These changes are only for a short while as we prioritise public health and safety. But you can help us keep our streets and parks clean by doing the following:

  • If you are out exercising, please take your litter home with you.
  • If you are walking your dog please take your bagged dog waste home with you and dispose of alongside general waste.
  • If you are in a public space and a litter bin is full and overflowing please do not add any more waste to it.
  • Share this information with other dog walkers you may know while adhering to social distancing guidance.

Keeping your community clean

We all take great pride in our neighbourhood and community. Making sure our pavements and public spaces are clean and litter-free is something we all like to see. But when the essential public services we all rely on are curtailed by the impact of coronavirus we’re all under a bit more pressure to lend a hand and do our bit.

Please take all your waste home. Thank you.

What next?
